Triumph The Specialty Hospital Rome Expands with Relocation

(Rome, Georgia/January 17, 2011) – Houston based Triumph HealthCare, the nation’s third largest provider of long-term acute care (LTAC) services, today announced the opening of Triumph The Specialty Hospital Rome in its new, larger location.


Formerly The Specialty Hospital, the facility is located on the campus of Floyd Medical Center at 304 Turner McCall Blvd. An Open House celebration for the new facility is planned for January 18 from noon until 2 p.m. Patients will be moved to the new space the second week of January.

Triumph The Specialty Hospital Rome is a joint venture partnership with Floyd Healthcare Resources Inc. and has operated in its current location on the fourth floor of Floyd Medical Center since 2000. It is the only LTAC hospital north of Marietta, GA. The expansion allows the hospital to better meet the demands of the local market.
The new 53,000 square-foot facility will operate 45 private rooms, including a state-of-the-art 12-bed high-observation unit where patients requiring extended hospitalizations due to chronic disease or catastrophic illness or injury will receive care.

“Triumph The Specialty Hospital Rome provides services to medically complex patients for whom the short-term acute care hospitals, like Floyd and Redmond, are no longer the most appropriate or cost-effective setting,” stated Mark Stepanik, Regional Vice President of Operations for Triumph HealthCare. “The average length of stay for patients in our specialty hospital is over 25 days compared with the five to seven day lengths of stay in general hospitals.”

Stepanik said the new hospital will expand on the "higher-end services" currently provided in the existing location, including intensive care services, special procedures, in-house radiology with CT services, and a dialysis suite.

The hospital will celebrate with a community open house on Tuesday, January 18th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
